Dr. Yandong Jiang Leads Launch of Anesthesiology Open

We are proud to celebrate a major milestone in academic publishing led by our very own Dr. Yandong Jiang, Professor of Anesthesiology at UTHealth Houston.

Today, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) announced the launch of Anesthesiology® Open, a peer-reviewed, open-access journal designed to broaden the scope of scientific exchange in our field. As Executive Editor, Dr. Jiang will guide the journal’s editorial vision and ensure its commitment to innovation and excellence.

Anesthesiology Open will feature a diverse range of article types, including:

  • Original Investigations
  • Research Letters
  • Reviews
  • Focal Point
  • Letters to the Editor
  • Editorials

It will also introduce a new category: Innovation in Practice, and serve as a home for ASA statements and expert consensus documents.

Researchers and clinicians are encouraged to submit their work starting October 1. ASA will provide messaging to help spread the word and support direct submissions.
