Please join me in welcoming Grace (Grizelda) Cavazos, to the Department as Senior Program Manager for the Master of Science in Anesthesiology (MSA) Program. Grace is an accomplished professional in medical education with strong skills in team leadership, collaboration, GME processes, regulatory affairs, and accreditation.
In her role, Grace will have direct responsibility for the administrative functions of the program, including supervising the administrative staff. She will partner with Mr. Charlie Phung, CAA, the Program Director for the MSA Program, in continuing to effectively operationalize the nascent program of the University and department. Reporting to Grace are Valerie Aragon, Education Programs Coordinator II, Monique Henning, Simulation Technician, and Salma Chavira, Administrative Assistant.
Grace brings 15+ years of experience in medical education, having served most recently as the Institutional ACGME Coordinator for UTHealth Houston. Previous experience includes roles at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston Methodist Hospital, and Baylor College of Medicine-Texas Children’s Hospital. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from LeTourneau University, Longview, Texas.
Outside of work, Grace is a dedicated mother to two high school-aged children. Her son is actively involved in football, while her daughter participates in cheerleading, and Grace spends much of her weekends supporting their activities from the stands. In her personal time, she enjoys reading and values the time she shares with her family.
