• Rounds @ 8 – usually until 11-12
• Lunch lectures with residents – Dr. Von will let you know the important ones to attend
• Most attendings do an afternoon rounding – check which time they want to meet
• Mid-levels take care of all orders for the most part
• Call – 2 weekdays (17:30 – 6:30) and 1 weekend – get sign-out for weekday calls in Pod A break room and will make e-mail sign-out for each attending in the AM
• Dictate H&Ps on-call, will put in some orders
• Check-in with midlevels on what is going on both on regular days and on call – everything goes through them and the attendings
• Blackberry “Critical care fellow” has all midlevels and attending contacts for their blackberries and is helpful for checking in on things and contacting attending (supposed to be changing to iPhones soon)
• Notes are both dictated and handwritten so have to check for both
• EMR good for notes, images, lab results
• Picis good for vital signs, medication administration, and nursing and RT notes
• Get rounding list in AM – labs, I&Os, vitals, MAR – lots of helpful info
