Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital (Critical Care Medicine)
Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital (MHSW) is a 425-bed hospital located in southwest Houston and the second largest hospital in the Memorial Hermann system. In addition to the anesthesiology critical care medicine fellows, anesthesiology residents and family practice residents rotate in the MHSW ICU. The MHSW ICU is a 54-bed ICU separated into six pods and is comprised of medical, surgical, neurosurgical, and cardiovascular critically ill patients. The ICU has a very high acuity level and is one of the busiest in Houston.
The intensivists are a close group of board-certified anesthesiologists intensivists, emergency medicine intensivists, and pulmonologists who provide 24/7 in-house faculty coverage. The ICU team is multidisciplinary and in addition to the physician staff includes nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dieticians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists.
