Are there specific faculty who will sponsor me in the Department of Neurology?

No – there are no specific Neurology faculty members assigned to sponsor visitors. If you wish to participate as an  observer/professional trainee/visiting student/visiting scientist, you will need to research and find a a faculty member who has the time and is willing to sponsor you. The department does not provide names or contact information.


Do I have to pay a fee to participate?

Yes. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Fees must be paid with the application in order to process the application.

Observers:

  • $2000 – departmental fee (payable to UTHealth – Neurology) for US citizens, US permanent residents and foreign nationals
  • $100 – university fee (payable to UTHealth-Houston) for US Citizens/US permanent residents
  • $775 – university fee (payable to UTHealth-Houston) for Foreign nationals (non-U.S. citizens/non-U.S. permanent residents)

Professional Trainees:

  • $100 – university fee (payable to UTHealth-Houston) for US Citizens/US permanent residents
  • $775 – university fee (payable to UTHealth-Houston) for Foreign nationals (non-U.S. citizens/non-U.S. permanent residents)

Visiting Scientists:

  •  $5,000.00 – university fee (payable to UTHealth-Houston) for US citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and Foreign nationals

NOTE: Payments are to be made on separate money orders. Personal checks are not accepted.


What do I need to submit with my application?

Once the faculty sponsor agrees to host a Visiting Scholar, the online Application is initiated at the department level by the department
coordinator, Applicant will receive an email with a unique link to complete the application and submit the required documents.
