Abbey Bachmann earned her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston, with an expertise in literacy and motivational learning environments. Her work at McGovern Medical School sits at the intersection of medical education and professional identity development, with a focus on supporting learners and educators across the continuum in personal and professional development. Her role involves the designing and facilitating of faculty development initiatives, resident and fellow workshops, and interdisciplinary training experiences that promote effective teaching, professionalism, and learner engagement. She is particularly passionate about fostering flourishing in clinical learning spaces, integrating approaches such as reflective practice, strengths-based development, and communication training.
