 Teaching philosophy:

One of my greatest joys is teaching and resident education. I completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston in 2005, followed by a Fellowship in Thoracic Radiology. Since then, I have remained as a faculty member at McGovern Medical School where I have dedicated my entire career working with the Diagnostic Radiology residency, educating residents and fellows, and mentoring medical students.

I am committed to being an accessible and supportive educator, dedicated to the growth and success of our residents and medical students. My desire is to create an academic atmosphere that fosters personal development, collaboration, and innovation in an inclusive and interactive setting. A positive learning environment allows everyone to feel heard and respected. I recognize the importance of empowering learners to develop their own critical thinking skills so they can reach their full potential. I incorporate innovative teaching methods into my lectures to keep them fresh, fun, and enjoyable. I want our residents to experience new ways to learn that they find exciting and rewarding. I am not only dedicated to their education, but also to their own personal growth and well-being. I create a safe space for our trainees to ask questions and seek guidance. Building positive relationships with students and residents is a priority for me, as I believe that trust and mutual respect are essential for personal and academic development.
