C. Frank Webber Prize for Student Research – MS1 Students

The Webber Prize is an award established in memory of C. Frank Webber, M.D., a former dean of the Medical School, strongly supported student research.

The Research Forum and the Webber Prize for Student Research Competition are for rising second-year students who conducted research in the biomedical sciences during their participation in McGovern Medical School’s Summer Research Program (SRP).  The Research Forum typically takes place in late October/early November at McGovern Medical School.  SRP Faculty mentor submits the nomination of their student(s) to enter the Webber Prize contest.

Each MS-2 student in the competition for the C. Frank Webber Prize for Student Research has two judges from the McGovern Medical School.  Student Research is judged on content, presentation, and knowledge of the research study.

First, Second, and Place winners are announced toward the end of the Research Forum.  Winners receive prized ribbons and picture opportunities with the Executive Dean of MMS, and  Director of the Summer Research Program (SRP). Each winner will receive monetary rewards, award certificate, and attend a spring luncheon with their mentor(s), Director of the SRP, Vice Dean of Office of Educational Programs, and Executive Dean of MMS.
