Lysosomal storage diseases (LSDs) are a group of over 50 genetic conditions in which multiple organ systems are affected. Individuals with these conditions deserve knowledgeable and specialized management of their care. Our LSD Center of Excellence offers diagnosis, evaluation, management, and treatment services for patients with all types of LSDs. We are comprised of board certified specialists including medical geneticists, genetic counselors, clinical research coordinators, and medical assistants that are trained to assist you in all aspects of your care.

  • Gaucher disease
  • Fabry disease
  • Pompe disease
  • Mucopolysacchardisosis (MPS) disorders
  • Niemann-Pick disease
  • GM1 and GM2 gangliosidosis disorders
  • Mucolipidosis (ML) disorders
  • And many more

Services of our LSD Center can provide include:

  • Thorough consultation for diagnosis of an LSD
  • Coordination and ordering of necessary labs and imaging
  • Creation of specialized treatment or management plans
  • Prescription of clinically-approved treatments such as enzyme replacement therapies, substrate reduction therapies, and chaperone therapies
  • Participation in available clinical trials or other current research
  • Continuation of long-term care throughout the lifetime
  • Counseling and guidance related to receiving a diagnosis and the impact this may have on individuals and families
  • Discussion of at-risk family members who would benefit from evaluation, surveillance, diagnostic testing, and treatment
  • Reproductive counseling for those at risk to have a child with an LSD and discussion of all available options, such as preconception and prenatal diagnosis
