MAY 2025
First Joint Interventional Radiology Meeting
RAD-AID Morocco program leaders participated in the First Joint Meeting of the Society of African Interventional Radiology and Endovascular Therapy and the Moroccan Interventional Radiology Society in Casablanca. The meeting included lectures, clinical cases, hands-on workshops, and simulation and strengthened the program’s visibility within Moroccan and African radiology.

SOCIÉTÉ MAROCAINE DE RADIOLOGIE PARTNERSHIP

Two resident education cycles:

  • 2025-2026
    • First resident education cycle developed with the Société Marocaine de Radiologie.
  • 2026-2027
    • Second cycle continuing longitudinal resident education, mentorship, and shared academic exchange.

CONTINUING PRIORITIES
Practical education and durable partnership

  • Practical education
    • Resident teaching, case-based learning, clinical reasoning, workshops, and hands-on simulation connect core radiology knowledge with patient care. Future cycles can deepen level-specific instruction, bilingual materials, and resident-to-resident teaching.
  • Durable partnership
    • Faculty mentorship, shared teaching, leadership development, and locally guided planning sustain collaboration across education cycles. Long-term success depends on integrating Moroccan faculty, preserving administrative support, and building a model that can outlive its founding members.

Leadership of the resident education cycles

The 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 cycles continue the resident-education mission led by Dr. Latifa Sanhaji and carried out primarily by radiology faculty from McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, in collaboration with Moroccan faculty and professional partners.
