General Abstract Instructions
Abstract materials must be submitted by Friday, September 23rd, 3:00pm
- You MUST prepare your material in accordance with the instructions provided to you.
- Meet with your Faculty Mentor to review the requirements and begin to write a draft of your abstract. Take a hard copy of the instructions with you. Your Faculty Mentor will help you with the abstract. Please keep in mind that your abstract must fit in the space provided to you on the abstract form. You cannot exceed one page. We would prefer no graphs; however, if you require one, please ensure the graph is no larger than 1-1 1/2” H X 6” L.
- Use only the blank abstract template provided, on which to submit your abstract information.
- Finalize your abstract and review carefully – especially formulas. Print paper copy of your abstract. Both you and your Faculty Mentor must sign the paper copy. Ensure that signature block is removed from the electronic copy.
- Email signed copy as PDF file to [email protected] Linh Trinh, JJL 315B.
- Email your finalized abstract as an attachment in WORD to [email protected] . This is the copy which will go into the online Abstract Book.
- Make copies of your abstract for your personal files.
- Remember your “Lab Research Ownership” agreement which specifies that any research is confidential and owned by McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston and/or your mentor and that permission must be obtained if you wish to submit your abstract to a third party.
