The Drs. Emil and Anna Steinberger Research Award – Ob-Gyn/Reproductive – MS4 Students
The Drs. Emil and Anna Steinberger Endowment provides awards for graduating senior medical students who have completed outstanding research in the broad areas of reproductive sciences, including basic, translational, or clinical research. This award was established in honor of Dr. Emil Steinberger, who was a renowned reproductive endocrinologist in Houston and passed away in 2008.
If you know of a student or have mentored a student who has accomplished such research, consider nominating that student for this prestigious monetary award ($2,000+). Nominations must be sent to Dr. Mary Horton at [email protected], and include the following:
- Student name;
- Mentor name and department in which research was conducted;
- Letter of Nomination why this student should be considered for this award;
- A list of academic products, awards, and contributions to the field of reproductive medicine. This includes research-published abstracts, journal articles, presentations, etc.
Criteria:
- Student must be classified as a fourth-year medical student (MS4)
- Research in Ob-Gyn/reproductive sciences
Steinberger Award Committee – Three McGovern Medical School faculty will rate the research project based on the:
- initiative and participation of student
- innovation or potential impact, and
- academic and/or scientific value
Up to two awards in the amount of $2,000+ each will be awarded for each calendar year.
Final Summary: Awardees will be required to submit a summary of their activities and a thank you note to the beneficiary’s family.
