The Drs. Emil and Anna Steinberger Research Award – Ob-Gyn/Reproductive – MS4 Students

This Award is for a medical student who demonstrates particular excellence in women’s health/reproductive sciences research, and was established in honor of Dr. Emil Steinberger, who was a renowned reproductive endocrinologist in Houston, and passed away in 2008.

Interested students are encouraged to submit an application with a synopsis of your research project to Dr. Mary E. Kollmer Horton.  Criteria and eligibility are as follows:

Criteria:

  • Student must be classified as a fourth-year medical student (MS4)
  • Research in Ob-Gyn/reproductive,

Application to include the followings:

  • Name
  • Student level
  • Email
  • Cell number
  • Title of Research
  • Faculty Mentor
  • Description of project
  • Where presented/published

Judging:

Steinberger Award Committee – Three McGovern Medical School faculty will rate the research project based on the:

  1.  initiative and participation of student
  2.  innovation or potential impact, and
  3.  academic and/or scientific value

Up to two awards in the amount of $2,000+ each will be awarded for each calendar year.

Final Summary: Awardees will be required to submit a one-page summary of their activities and a thank you note to the beneficiary’s family.
