Visiting US students

McGovern Medical School uses VSAS, the Visiting Student Application Service, to receive visiting student applications for the academic year. Applications may be submitted through VSAS starting on May 1. Students will be notified of their acceptance via email sometime in June after McGovern students are placed. To apply to our institution, please complete and send us a VSAS application for your preferred electives and dates.

Visiting Non-US students

Advanced Patient Care (APC) SELECTIVES ARE NOT OPEN TO VISITING STUDENTS

The electives are a 4 week rotation.  Visiting students are limited to no more than two (2) one-month electives. Approval to rotate at McGovern Medical School is granted solely by the Office of Student Affairs.  Approvals obtained directly from department coordinators will not be honored.

Observer-ship (OTVS) training program

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health) welcomes visiting colleagues and students from across the United States and around the world for research and educational collaboration, observation, and study.

 

Visitor-  is an individual who, though uncompensated by UT Health, may be given access to UT Health property, facilities and/or information systems, at the discretion of UT Health, for a specific period of time for the collaborative or educational purposes. Visitors may not perform any patient care. Visitors are not considered, employees, and are not entitled to wages or benefits. There are six categories of Visitors to UT Health: Guest, Observer, Pre-Baccalaureate Trainee, Professional Trainee, Visiting Student Trainee, and Visiting Scientist.
