Due to COVID-19:
McGovern Medical School has the responsibility to monitor external and visiting medical student rotations in an effort to maintain safety and educational standards and to promote well-being. Covid -19 has necessarily impacted the clinical component of our medical curriculum. Currently the following guidelines are in place:
- Currently, electives will be offered to students enrolled in LCME-accredited US medical schools/programs – no international schools at this time (this is subject to change later in the year).
- Visiting students will not be permitted prior to July 1, 2022.
Full Instructions for Visiting Students US
McGovern Medical School uses VSLO, the AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities, to receive visiting student applications. Applications may be submitted through VSLO beginning April 1, 2022. Approval to rotate at McGovern Medical School is granted solely by the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs. Approvals obtained directly from department coordinators will not be honored. Students will be notified of their acceptance via email in June after McGovern students are placed. To apply to our institution, please complete and send us a VSLO application for your preferred electives and dates.
