The Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine hosted an all‑day Pediatric Procedural Sedation Course on December 2, 2025, at the Center for Anesthesiology Education. The course was designed to promote safe and effective sedation practices for pediatric patients and was attended by pediatric hospital medicine fellows and general pediatric chief residents.
Participants received a strong foundation in pediatric procedural sedation through a combination of didactic sessions, hands‑on skills training, simulation exercises, and formal assessment. Learners had multiple opportunities to plan and lead sedation procedures in a warm, supportive, and psychologically safe learning environment that encouraged active participation and questions.
All attendees will receive certificates of attendance. The department looks forward to offering many more courses in the future to providers across specialties and training levels.
For more information or to express interest in attending a future session, please contact Dr. Meera Gangadharan at [email protected].
