What do you like about our program?: The resident support is truly one of a kind. Our PD, several APDs, etc do a remarkable job of promoting a positive learning environment

What do you like to do in Houston: Houston has so many great places to eat! I love trying different places with my co-residents and friends. If I can, I also like to hit up the golf courses and spend time doing my hobbies like video games and painting!

What do you like about our program: Everyone here is so supportive and kind and there is always something to learn and do. I feel that there is such good volume of cases with excellent diversity. I am confident I will have excellent training by the time I graduate from the program!

What do you like about our program? Loved that from day 1, there was a ton of support from uppers, PDs/APDs/faculty, and my class.

Hobbies: finding places to eat, soccer, volleyball, hiking, nature photography, hanging with friends

Fun fact: I broke my arm playing indoor volleyball and I was in a cast for a year and a half.

What do you like about our program? I chose to stay at McGovern because the people in the Anesthesiology department are some of the nicest, down-to-earth people I've ever met, and because the clinical opportunities offered at the Texas Medical Center are unparalleled.

Fun fact: Most of my free time and money is spent on electric guitars.

What do you like to do in Houston?: The food here is unbelievable, and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. Happy hours and nights out with friends bring me great joy.

What do you like about our program?: The people here have made everything better. Both the residents and attendings have been awesome. I joined the party late as a new CA-1, but have made fast friends who have been incredibly supportive. Whenever I need help someone is there.

Hobbies: Running, Hiking, video games, and board games

Fun Fact: I broke both of my arms in a bicycle accident when I was young. It made me incredibly popular having double the cast space to sign.

What do you like about our program?: The culture of support, constructive learning, and the camaraderie at this program! My co-residents are my favorite people and I feel very comfortable reaching out to the PD/APDs for anything!

Fun Fact: My hobbies are knitting, reading on my kindle, working out, and spending time with my friends and family!

What do you like to do in Houston? I love to explore different restaurants in Houston and spend time with my husband and loved ones.

What do you like about our program? I love how supportive our program leadership and co-residents are. I truly feel like everyone is uplifting each other to succeed. I also really like learning in the Texas Medical Center because of the variety of pathologies and cases we are exposed to.

Fun fact: I used to do hair and makeup for theater productions and special occasions. I am hoping to keep expanding my skills.

What do you like about our program? One thing I love about this program is the leadership. Our program directors are really supportive and take our experiences into account when making decisions. I also really appreciate the camaraderie amongst the upper-level residents and my class.

What do you like to do in Houston? My family is new to Houston but we have enjoyed taking our kids to the many parks, libraries and splash pads that Houston has to offer. I have been very excited to find that Houston is such a family-friendly city. My wife and I have also enjoyed exploring a few of Houston’s many amazing restaurants.

What do you like about our program? I was looking for a program that would prepare me to practice in any setting on my first day out of residency. Our program appealed to me because of the fantastic clinical exposure and the chance to train at many of the nation’s top hospitals. When I visited TMC and saw the sheer size of it, I became very confident that I would be extremely well-prepared coming out of residency, regardless of the career path I ultimately pursue. On top of that, the residents I met during my interview were very impressive and seemed like they were having a blast during training.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing with my three kids, golf, watching football (Go Army, Beat Navy), and traveling.

What do you like about our program? The residents! I love being a part of a large group of residents. It’s hard enough in residency to coordinate busy schedules, but being part of a big residency means there’s always someone to hang out and explore the city with. Also my co-residents are fun and down to earth.

Fun fact: I’ve joined yelp elite while in Houston. I also am a cat mama of 2 cats - Soba and Mochi.

What do you like to do in Houston? Did someone say food?! I love the culinary scene in the city and exploring new restaurants—especially with my co-residents!

What do you like about our program? At UT Health, I love caring for the diversity of patients that come to our hospitals and clinics. I am also in awe of the acuity and complexity of medical conditions that I participate in through my various rotations. The clinical experiences at UT Health are only matched by the people in the program! I greatly enjoy the strong sense of community and camaraderie among residents! Additionally, from program leadership, there is an undeniable commitment to resident learning and mentorship.

Hobbies: During my off days, you can often catch me biking around the city or walking along the bayou! Spending most of my life where it snows or rains for the half year, I try to soak in as much sun as I can. On those rare days when I can’t be outdoors, I try to squeeze in a workout with Peloton (not ad, I promise)!

What do you like about our program? Supportive, fun, and lovely residents and program director Dr. Markham. Large diverse program in a large diverse city, busy trauma center, reputation for excellent clinical training.

Fun fact: A fortune teller helped my parents name me.

Hobbies: Experiencing other cultures, traveling, playing basketball, staying active: biking trails, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, etc.

What do you like to do in Houston? Eat! Houston has so many different restaurants and so many different types of cuisine. You could eat at a different restaurant every day and still never run out of new ones to try.

What do you like about our program? The people! From Day 1, the faculty and other residents were all so welcoming and approachable. We're one of the larger programs, but the department works hard to bring everyone together with frequent outings, happy hours, and mentor groups.

Fun fact: I'm trying to visit all of the National Parks in the US.

What do you like about our program? I really enjoy the family atmosphere of the program and how supportive everyone is. The program also offers lots of opportunities for training, research, and teaching since it is one of the largest trauma centers and has a diverse patient population.

What do you like about our program? I really like how well supported I feel here. The faculty and administration really do their best to advocate for your needs as a resident and that was extremely important to me when choosing a program.

Hobbies: My hobbies include weightlifting, gardening, basketball, watching movies/shows, cooking, video games, and socializing with friends.

What do you like about our program? My favorite thing about the program are the people. Everyone was warm and welcoming upon starting residency and have been supportive through the good and bad days throughout the rotations thus far. Its family away from family and I know I can count on them any day of the week.

What do you like about our program?: I love the comradery amongst the residents in our program. Our wellness team is top notch and frequently have multiple hangouts each month to blow off steam outside of work. As a navigationally challenged human, I can always find someone willing to help see me through to my destination in the hospital.

Fun Fact: My second full time job is teaching my two girls to love the Atlanta Braves.
