Welcome to the Department of Anesthesiology – New Team Members for January through March 2022
We would like to welcome the below new faculty and staff members to the department.
Alexis Horn
Alexis joined the department on March 28, 2022 as a Residency/Fellowship Program Coordinator I and is a part of the Residency/Fellowship Administration.
Jingbo Yan, CAA
Jingbo joined the department on March 21, 2022 and works with the anesthesiology care team at Memorial Hermann Hospital—TMC.
Stacey Padua
Stacey joined the department on March 14, 2022 as an administrative assistant and is a part of the recruitment/credentialing team.
Xiangsheng (Shawn) Huang, PhD
Dr. Huang joined the department on January 10th as an Assistant Professor in our research division, specializing in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He will be working in Dr. Holger Eltzschig’s lab. Prior to joining UTHealth, he worked for the University of California Berkeley as an Assistant Researcher in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology, investigating the mechanisms of how immune cells respond to the bile acid in the small intestine. Dr. Huang completed his PhD in Biology at the University of Tuebingen in Germany.
Wei Cao, PhD
Dr. Cao joined the department on January 4th as a Professor in our research division, specializing in neuroinflammation, interferon response, neurodegeneration, and translational science. Prior to joining UTHealth, she worked for Baylor College of Medicine as an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics. She completed her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
