The Department of Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Critical Care, which is comprised of both Basic Science Research and Clinical faculty, is delighted to announce that the McGovern School- Faculty Academic Promotions and Tenure Committee (FAPTC) approved the promotion of a total of nine faculty members, one in the Research Division and eight in the Clinical Division. The promotion process of Research faculty on the Tenure Track is overseen by Dr. Holger Eltzschig, (Chairman) and Dr. Cynthia Ju, (Vice Chair of Basic Science Research) and the promotion process of clinical faculty on the non -tenured track is overseen by the Department promotions committee and is comprised of clinical professors. We specifically thank Dr. Marie-Francoise Doursout, for her extensive involvement in the department promotions process and her past service on the FAPTC, as well as Dr. Lara Ferrario for her current service on the McGovern School FAPTC. We also acknowledge and thank Kathy Franz who does a Yeoman’s job with the final process of preparing the Chairman’s letter and ensuring the promotions package contains all the required documents prior to submission to the FAPTC.
The department submitted nine faculty members for promotion for 2022-2023 and all nine (100%)- five Associate Professors and four full professors, were approved by the University of Texas McGovern Academic Promotions and Tenure Committee.
