Appointment to Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA) Medical Directorships

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Keyur Ghael to the dual roles of Director of Endoscopic NORA and Director of Radiologic NORA, effective June 1, 2024.

Dr. Ghael’s key responsibilities for the roles include:

  • Lead clinical operations of the NORA service to ensure standardized, high-quality patient care with efficient and innovative utilization of clinical, material, and financial resources.
  • Respond to and resolve issues, concerns, and problems arising from the day-to-day clinical practice of the NORA service. Interface with Gastroenterology, Interventional Radiology, and MHH-TMC leadership.
  • Coordinate and lead activities to build relationships with physicians, nurses, and administrators supported by the NORA service and develop plans for improving anesthesia faculty, physician, care team, patient, and health system leadership’s satisfaction levels.
  • Participate in relevant service line meetings.
  • Guide faculty members as they provide clinical care. Ensure the service line’s clinical team has the skills to provide high-quality patient care through the development of protocols, guidelines, and processes.
  • Create business plans for future expansion of NORA services.
  • Coordinate with the residency program directors to ensure that optimal didactics and clinical experiences are provided to the trainees on the service.
  • Recruit new faculty to the pod as needed and support the career development of NORA faculty.
  • Develop innovative scholarship in NORA.

We also wish to thank Dr. Stacy Norrell for her leadership, dedication, and service to our department and hospital partner. She served in the roles since 2022.
