Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) Training

We hold two sessions on responsible conduct in research (RCR) training annually. The purpose of the training to promote a culture of responsible conduct of research in the department as well as enhance the medical school’s mandatory research ethics training.

The topics covered by the training include:

• Human subjects research & IRB review
• Responsible care, treatment, and euthanization of vertebrate animals in research
• Data acquisition, safekeeping, and publishing
• Safekeeping of clinical data, manuscript checklist, and pre-submission review
• Statistical analysis of data
• Scientific misconduct proceedings

A certificate will be issued at the completion of the training.

This training is required for all basic research personnel and everyone who is currently on an active IRB with the department.

This training is also mandatory for researchers who are seeking departmental research support (time or funding).
