Congratulations to Drs. Yafen Liang and Paul Potnuru on obtaining a consortium grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) – Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Consortium to Advance Health Equity and Researcher Diversity (AIM-AHEAD) Program.

Dr. Liang will serve as the PI for the grant, and Dr. Potnuru will serve as Key Personnel.

For this collaborative project, Liang and a group of her research colleagues will utilize machine learning and AI tools to examine the role donor-recipient blood type mismatches play in heart transplantations using the UNOS database and help reduce health disparities by formulating interventions.
