The McGovern Medical School offers a variety of programs which enhance and extend the core curriculum, as well as provide additional curriculum resources to our students. Additional information regarding these programs can be found below.
The McGovern Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free, six week academic and summer enrichment program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for college freshman and sophomores interested in medicine, dentistry, nursing, or public health.
College undergraduates and McGovern medical students participate in hands-on laboratory research experience supervised by faculty members from the medical and dental schools of UTHealth.
