Question: Hello. Im looking to check on patho results on a removed lump. Who may I contact in regards to this information? Thank you.

Answer: Thank you for contacting the UT Ask a Breast Imaging Expert forum. I know how hard it is to wait for it, but it generally takes about a week to get surgical pathology results back. I presume from your question that the doctor performed surgery on you but has not received the report from the pathologist yet. If it has been a week or more since the biopsy, then you should contact the doctor’s office or the clinic and ask if the results are available. In general, patients should get the results from the doctors who performed the procedures or the referring doctors.

Question: Just want to let everyone know what a great staff they have at the LBJ breast imaging area. The doctors are caring and knowledgeable, and the mammo techs are all friendly and experienced.
