McGovern offers top master’s in clinical research program

Best Master's In Clinical ResearchIntelligent.com has rated McGovern Medical School as one of its top-20, Best Master’s in Clinical Research Degree Programs of 2022.

Programs chosen for the award lead to a master’s of science degree in clinical research, clinical nursing research, biomedical laboratory management, or another similar title leading to certification as a clinical researcher. Each program ranges from 30 to 74 credits and takes between one and two years of full-time study. Programs require full accreditation to ensure up-to-date curriculums and real-world knowledge from professors.

With a score of 73.76, the Master of Science in Clinical Research program at McGovern Medical School ranks 20th in the nation and claimed the award for Best Patient-Oriented Focus. The program is designed for faculty and clinical fellows who wish to receive formal trainings as they build a career in patient-oriented clinical research.

The 36-credit program is designed to be focused, flexible, and affordable, to train clinical investigators to conduct exemplary quality clinical research and become competitive in seeking research support. The program relies heavily on in-person, small group class settings and is designed to accommodate clinicians’ busy schedules.

A master’s degree in clinical research gives the ability to design, coordinate, and manage trials, as well as work with a team to analyze research questions posted by trials. The need for trained professionals in these areas is rapidly expanding, and becoming a clinical researcher is a common career step for those already working as clinical research assistants.
