UT Police’s annual toy drive returns

UT Police at Houston is gearing up for its Annual Children’s Gift Drive, benefiting UTHealth Houston Harris County Psychiatric Center. The department is accepting gift donations at 10 locations throughout the UTHealth Houston campus, detailed below.

Through Monday, Dec. 19, the UTHealth Houston community can bring new, unopened, and unwrapped gifts for children ages 10 to 17 to any donation box across campus.

Suggested gifts include coloring books, crayons, sidewalk chalk, interlocking building blocks, puzzles, cars or trucks, superhero posters, dolls, stuffed animals, board games, journals (no spirals), sketch pads, house slippers, socks, purses and wallets, flying discs, hacky sacks, sports balls (soccer, basketball, football, etc.), and Rockets, Texans, or Astros branded gifts.

The following items are not allowed: batteries, antennas, pencil sharpeners, or any sharp items.

Locations below will have donation boxes from Dec. 1 through Dec. 19 and are accessible during normal building hours:

  • Sarofim Research Building (Institute of Molecular Medicine) – Lobby
  • Recreation Center – Entrance
  • McGovern Medical School – Learning Resource Center Lobby
  • School of Dentistry – Room 6240
  • School of Public Health – Lobby
  • UTHealth Houston Professional Building – 11th floor
  • Cizik School of Nursing – Main Lobby
  • Operations Center Building – Rio Grande Room
  • University Center Tower – TBD
  • Behavioral and Biomedical Sciences Building – Lobby
