Department of Pediatrics Birth Defects Symposium

The Department of Pediatrics sponsored a Birth Defects Symposium, attended by department faculty as well as the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, and the UTHealth Houston School of Biomedical Informatics.

The four-hour session featured 15 lightning overview talks on neural tube defects, cleft lip and palate, cardiovascular, kidney defects, epidemiology, and public health studies. Collaborations were initiated during the discussion and break times and there was enthusiastic support for bi-annual meetings.
