Five McGovern postdocs win President’s research awards

2022 President’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research

The winners of the 2022 President’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research.

The Postdoctoral Association and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at UTHealth Houston have named five McGovern Medical School postdoctoral research fellows as the winners of the 2022 President’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research.

This year’s winners (and their mentors) are:
First place – Elliot Murphy, PhD; (Nitin Tandon, MD); Neurosurgery
Second place – Shantanu Guha, PhD; (Danielle Garsin, PhD); Microbiology and Molecular Genetics
Third place – Eunju Kim, PhD; (Zheng Chen, PhD, and Seung-Hee Yoo, PhD); Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Finalists – Pratick Khara, PhD; (Bo Hu, PhD, and Peter Christie, PhD); Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and Hiroyuki Yamaguchi, PhD; (Yoshihiro Komatsu, PhD); Pediatric Research Center

Faculty reviewers for the 2022 President’s Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Research are Gabriel Fries, PhD, Louis A.
