Imran Rizvi, MD

Being able to shape the culture of a new integrated program in my hometown makes training at UTHealth Houston very exciting. The faculty have years of teaching experience and readily welcome feedback from residents, and the case volume and variety are both second to none. Additionally, the interdisciplinary teaching that accompanies working in the biggest medical center in the world made UTHealth Houston my top residency choice.

Born and raised in Houston, Imran attended the University of Texas at Austin before returning to his hometown to pursue his medical degree. He completed a year of research in pediatric craniofacial surgery at UT Southwestern before starting residency at his home program. When he gets an off day, Imran enjoys thrift & antique shopping, photography, reading, and supporting Houston and Longhorn sports. He likes to exclaim “we are so back” whenever they squeeze out a nail biter in a game they were supposed to win handedly.
