Mentoring, Resources, and Benefits

Mentoring

Each incoming fellow is matched with a dedicated faculty mentor. Early in fellowship, this mentor provides direction and support for developing and completing the ACGME-mandated scholarly project. Mentors also serve as accessible resources for guidance in career planning, academic pursuits, and navigating the practical aspects of daily professional life.

A defining feature of our program is the remarkable diversity of expertise within our faculty. Fellows benefit from exposure to mentors with a wide range of clinical, research, and educational interests. Regardless of your career goals, there are faculty members who can offer insight, share similar interests, or connect you with leaders in your chosen area. Many of these mentors are highly respected authorities in their fields and are deeply committed to teaching and mentorship.

Following approximately two months of operating room experience, fellows select both a senior and a junior faculty mentor. This mentorship structure provides layered support, diverse perspectives, and sustained guidance throughout the fellowship year.
