Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesiology Fellowship

Welcome to the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology!

Our Texas Medical Board approved program offers fellowships for either a 6 or 12-month period based on your goals and needs.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with flexible start times.

The fellow will care for the congenital cardiac patient population during cardiac surgeries including cardiopulmonary bypass, thoracic, non-cardiac surgery, catheterization suite procedures, imaging, and cases in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). The rotation site, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, performs over 290 bypass cases annually, with 350 catheterization lab cases, 600 imaging cases, and non-cardiac cases. Fellows will gain additional training in transesophageal echocardiography, and insertion of invasive monitoring lines such as arterial and central venous cannulation with advanced ultrasound guidance. Our group also actively utilizes regional anesthesia techniques.

Interested applicants should contact our Residency/Fellowship Program Coordinator I, Alexis Horn at 713-500-6299.
