Dr. Hina Dave is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in neurology, epilepsy, and clinical neurophysiology. She specializes in refractory epilepsy and clinical trials for new drug and device therapies, and she is the clinical trials leader for the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.

Her main clinical practice is in The Woodlands. Dr. Dave received her medical degree at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine and completed residency training in neurology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She went on to complete a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by fellowship training in epilepsy at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

She joins McGovern Medical School and the Texas Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at UTHealth Houston Neurosciences after practicing at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

She is a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Neurology, Seizure, Epilepsy Research, and the Journal of the International League Against Epilepsy – Epilepsia, and a member of the International League Against Epilepsy, the Epilepsy Study Consortium Executive Committee, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and the American Epilepsy Society.

Dr. Dave has a strong interest in physician education and mentoring, as well as in clinical quality improvement. Her research interests include investigating new treatments for epilepsy patients in collaboration with the Epilepsy Study Consortium, epilepsy in the elderly, and machine learning techniques for seizure detection.

Collaboration with Referring Physicians

Physicians affiliated with UTHealth Neurosciences engage referring physicians in the care of their patients, keeping them informed about patient progress throughout the evaluation and treatment process. After a patient’s treatment, referring physicians receive a summary and a plan for follow-up. Our physicians encourage continued communication about each patient.
