Research

My main research interest is the physiology of inflammatory responses and the mechanisms by which regulation or dysregulation of these responses contributes to homeostasis or disease, respectively. As an immunologist by training, this has involved studying the role of T cells in lung injury during respiratory viral infection to the role of macrophages in tissue repair after cardiac injury. My current focus leverages these experiences and seeks to understand how cardiovascular disease fuels innate and adaptive responses leading to neuroinflammation and cognitive dysfunction.
